What is Yoga therapy?

Yoga therapy is a specialized form of therapy that integrates yoga principles and practices with mental health care. It brings together different techniques, like physical postures, breathwork, meditation, and lifestyle management, to promote emotional balance, physical well-being, and mental clarity through:

  • Gentle movements and postures tailored to your needs
  • Breathwork exercises to calm the mind and reduce anxiety
  • Mindfulness practices to cultivate presence and awareness

Yoga therapy is adaptable to all skill levels, ensuring that everyone, regardless of experience, can benefit from its restorative and healing effects.

How we use Yoga therapy to support mental health

Yoga therapy is seamlessly integrated into our treatment programs to help clients manage:

  • Substance Use Disorders (SUD): Support recovery by reducing cravings and promoting a sense of calm and control.
  • Eating Disorders: Foster a healthier relationship with your body through gentle, nonjudgmental movement.
  • Anxiety Disorders: Reduce stress and enhance relaxation through breathing techniques and mindfulness.
  • Depression: Boost energy levels and improve mood with movements that activate the body and mind.
  • Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD): Enhance emotional regulation and self-awareness through mindful practices.
  • Trauma: Create a safe space to reconnect with your body and release tension stored from past experiences.

Yoga therapy works in harmony with evidence-based treatments like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to provide comprehensive and effective care.
